The Litchfield Historical Society invites all to join historian John Pekarcik on Monday, October 15th at 7:00 pm in the Litchfield Town Hall as he discusses the historical contributions of Ohio’s Native Americans. Learn through this interactive presentation how natives from cave man to mound builder worked, hunted, played, fought and lived. The program is free, and no registration is required.

The Litchfield Township Zoning Commission will be conducting a site plan hearing for property located at 3739 Avon Lake Road in Litchfield Township Ohio.
  The application is requesting to add a 40’ x 60’ processing area to an existing building.  The site plan will be held at 9266 Norwalk Road, Litchfield, Ohio 44253 at 6:30pm.


Written correspondence to be read by the board should be mailed to Litchfield Township, P.O. Box 178, Litchfield, Ohio 44253 and be received no later than 10 days prior to the meeting; written correspondence the day of the meeting is welcome.  The site plan can be reviewed with the Litchfield Township Zoning Inspector by calling 330.723.6966.

6th Annual Community Garage Sale

Litchfield Township is holding its 6th annual community-wide garage sale Thursday, July 16-Sunday, July 19, 9 am-5 pm daily. 


The cost for each sale address is $10.  This is a donation to the Girls Ministry at Litchfield Assembly of God Church to pay for all ads for this event. 

Maps are also made and distributed to each shopper with each sale address to ensure that no sales sites are missed.

If you wish to participate in the garage sales, simply send:

  • your ENTIRE address, including “Litchfield, Ohio 44253” or “Medina, Ohio 44256”
  • a brief description of items at your sale
  • the days and times you’ll be open that weekend (if different from above)
  • a valid email address
  • your $10 donation, checks written to Litchfield A/G (or your address won’t be added to the map)


Send the $10 donation and information to Krystal Hartshorn, 9082 Norwalk Road, Litchfield, OH 44253.

To help avoid mistakes, Krystal will send a rough draft of the map to each participant to review by July 12.  Please contact her with any revisions or corrections.  The maps will be ready for distribution on July 15.

Don’t forget to tie balloons on your mailbox so your sale is easier to find!

Ice Cream Socials are back!

Friday Night Ice Cream Socials, 6:30-8:30pm, Litchfield Circle Park 

It’s a summer Friday night tradition in Litchfield: various organizations take responsibility for making and serving refreshments including hot dogs, chili dogs, sloppy joes, chips, ice cream, pies and cake, pop and coffee. A few picnic tables are available, but you are welcome to bring a lawn chair or a blanket. The town band starts to play about 7:30 pm. Activities for children are provided. Bring the family and have a fun time. 


Rain or Shine. Held at the Town Hall annex building during inclement weather.

Fire & Rescue Pancake Breakfast & Blood Drive is back!

Stop by the Litchfield Township Fire Station at 9487 Norwalk Road in Litchfield (on route 18 just west of the Litchfield Circle) for three good causes:

  1. Support the Fire & Rescue team’s fundraiser to help purchase needed equipment
  2. Donate blood to the American Red Cross (8 am-12 noon)
  3. Enjoy a great breakfast.  Anyone who gives blood gets breakfast on the (fire) house!
